Abs Diet Plan – Might Not Be A Great Strategy

Abs Diet Plan? NO....Eat Stop Eat

Abs Diet Plan? NO....Eat Stop Eat

I just learned of the Abs Diet Plan and I have seen this type of diet plan before just not called the Abs Diet Plan. This Abs Diet Plan is created by Men’s Health editor David Zinczenko and is supposed to enhance primarily fat loss and muscle building.

Not unlike other programs the Abs Diet Plan touts eating several meals throughout the day utilizing what he calls the twelve power foods. 2-3 of these power foods should be eaten with every main meal. There is an exercise component to the Abs Diet Plan which is primarily interval training. The Abs Diet Plan is only a six week program. Also during the plan you are supposed to take one meal a week and eat anything you’d like.

I have looked at the list of the power foods for the Abs Diet Plan and I have to admit that I do agree with the list. The issue I have with the Abs Diet Plan is that it is a diet first off. Secondly I take issue with all of the diet plans that tout eating lots of meals per day. I really don’t understand why this became so popular.

Your total calorie intake lets say for the entire week is what is important. For instance I don’t eat 6 times per day. I don’t have time to plan out all of these little meals that programs like the Abs Diet Plan want you to consume throughout the day. I suppose this is so you don’t ever get hungry and to keep your energy level high? I generally eat 2-3 times per day, sometimes only once, (notice I didn’t say meals,) and only if I am hungry. I might grab a banana or a whole grain nutrition bar instead of eating an entire meal. I try to keep my calorie intake in my target zone not daily but rather so it averages out throughout the week to my target zone.

This way if I pig out one day I probably won’t be as hungry the next day and won’t eat as much therefore balancing my calories out throughout my weekly intake. This way of eating makes it easier than to try and hit calorie targets daily. If I overeat I just eat less another day, it all averages out.

The other issue I have with the Abs Diet Plan is that there is a time frame, six weeks. Well then what?

If you really want to lose weight and get in shape you should adopt a way of life that promotes healthy eating and exercise components but in a method that doesn’t seem grueling or contrived. Again I like the power foods of the Abs Diet Plan I just don’t care for the total idea.

I am a big proponent of full body exercises using your own body weight. I love these routines because they are quick but they get the job done. Also I like to use intermittent fasting for short periods to help kick start the fat burning process. These two things will keep your body guessing so it won’t fall into and adjust to your routine. Our bodies are smart and will adapt to your routine and as a result your progress will stall.

As an alternative to the Abs Diet Plan I recommend looking into intermittent fasting and full body workouts. Oh and if abs are really your thing full body routines will help you reduce your overall body fat percentage so you can see them. There is also a lot of no cost information at the truth about abs site if you just poke around it a bit.

  1. This is sort of a big resourcefulness that you are catering and you give it away for free. I enjoy seeing sites that empathize the value of supplying a quality resource for free of charge.
